  where were you in the pecking order??

  jws pride themselves as being different from "worldly" organizations and other religions.

  they claim to have no clergy/laity groups.

  Even as a teenager there was a pecking order I would say it went as follows

  slutty Elder's son or daughter

  Elder's regular son or daughter

  Pioneer teenager who still drinks on the weekend

  slutty baptized publisher

  baptized publisher who doesn't tell on any of the above

  non baptized publisher who is slutty/doesn't tell on above

  baptized publisher/pioneer who tells on above

  non baptized publisher who tells on everyone above

  pimply faced newly minted 19 year old ministerial servant who of course tells on everyone above

  non baptized non publishing ass who gets his kicks out of telling on everyone else even though he is just as bad

  this is a great opportunity to get involved and do something positive for our fellow man, in this case, readers of the mountaineer.

  First of all don't inundate the paper. It will just give both the dubs and paper a sense that we are all angry ex JW's who are just out to get THEM. So that being said just write a polite reply thanking them for the article but pointing out you would like to see some of the other controversies mentioned.

  just a reminder to get your mammo, at least by the end of the year.. the komen foundation has done so much for breast cancer awareness..........is anyone doing the race for the cure in their area?

  I have mixed feelings about the pink ribbons and this so called "breast cancer awareness". Most of the time corporations spend more money advertising they are against breast cancer then actually trying to help find a cure. I would suggest checking out the Breast Cancer Action web page CLICKEY. Of course I am not against awareness it just seems the ribbons do little to actually help.

  i hope that some of you lurkers out here really take a look at some of the thread in this section of the board.

  this awake magazine says not one thing about how families are asked to trust their elders and how these very elders were and are abusing their children.

  it mentions nothing about watching out for these trusted men in the congregations.............oh it brings out the internet, other family members and fathers and males in particular.. it will tell you how much your child needs to do to prevent something like this from happening.

  quite different from most people raised a witness, i have very few horror stories about my upbringing.

  my family was just a family, my mom and dad fought and argued, my siblings and i misbehaved and got in trouble.. .

  I don't understand why people discuss the pedophile thing being so bad because the hid it. The best way to get to your family is by showing that the NUMBER 1 rule Jesus taught was judge others on how you would want to be judge. They judge the churches on this as a sign of false religion. Just on the basis of Jesus they would have to Judge themselves by these exact same standards. Perhaps using this argument and not deviating from it might have more impact. It certainly did on my Dad.

  just out on dvd, "the lives of others" subtitled german.

  a fact based story of big brother in east germany under the soviet secret police, the stasi.

  chilling to realize it is all based on fact.

  Gopher....NASCAR is only fun to drink to. If I had to pick a driver I would probably go with Stewart since he can be a real jerk, and I like that. As for College b-ball I am a Tarheel fan through and through!
